British Army T4 Target Rifle
Of standard specification. Chambered in .7.62 NATO with a detachable ten-shot box magazine. Equipped with a heavy barrel of 25.3/4″ in length and just over 7/8″ diameter. Based on a No 4 action and converted by Parker-Hale.
Stocked in dark walnut, Monte-Carlo type, sporting stock with a pistol-grip. The butt has a “Kick-eez” pad fitted and a single swivel point under the fore-end.
Overall the rifle measures 45″ with a trigger pull length of 13.1/4″ to center. The pistol grip is capped – the whole stock being in very good condition. Conventional Enfield-type safety mounted at rear LHS of action. The bolt handle has a flattened bolt roundel and a square cocking handle. The underside of the cocking piece is marked with a date of “1956” and the broad arrow of the War Department.
Serial number; “228” on the RHS of the receiver which is repeated on the rear of the bolt handle. The forward scope mount dovetail is marked “A20” and with the same makers name as the barrel. A rear scope mount is fitted to the ladder sight mounting point, at the rear of the action. That is also marked with the makers name and has a hole for the anti-movement stud on the underside of the original scope.
Four grove RH twist bore in good condition. An interesting and high condition rifle, ready for use again on the range.
