Iconic Remington Speedmaster Model 552 Semi-Auto Rifle
Manufactured from the late 1950’s until 1988. This example carries the serial number 1761197 and is chambered in .22 LR. It measures 42″ overall. Has a round blued barrel of 23″ and a trigger pull length of 13.3/4″. There is a safety button at the rear of the trigger guard. Pistol grip stock with impressed checkering with hard plastic Remington marked butt plate. The fore end is also checkered in the same manner.
Tubular magazine under the barrel with cocking mechanism to the left of the frontal assembly. Open sights and German proofs applied. The action is made from a lightweight alloy and is marked as follows on the LHS: “Remington Speedmaster /MODEL 552 / 1761197″ Deflection shield over ejection port to RHS of action. High edge wear to action painted finish starting to become thin. Stock work all in excellent condition – distinct lack of dents and dings to surface.
Needs a clean but a good honest piece.
