U.S. 1903 Pistol Grip Stock Bolt Action Service Rifle

s/n 1518860.  .30-06 caliber.  24″ round parkerized barrrel.

The barrel is marked “SA/ordnance bomb/11-32” behind the front sight. The top of the receiver is marked “US/SPRINGFIELD/ARMOURY/MODEL 1903” over the serial number. Fixed front sight and adjustable rear military sights. The end-cap has the bayonet lug underneath.

The pistol grip stock is unmarked and undamaged. The whole rifle is arsenal refurbished and retains 98% of the re-parkerizing. Markings are clear and the action is excellent, along with the bore which is very clean with strong rifling.

This between-war example is a rare and collectible version of the 1903 service rifle.  They do not appear often therefore this is a worthwhile addition to any military rifle collection. The rifle has been UK proofed and should proove to be an accurate weapon, christened by its enemies as the “rifle of silent death” for its deadly long range accuracy.
