WW2 Bolt Action Military Model 1903 A3 Rifle.
S/n 3452143. .30-06 cal
24″ Round barrel, parkerized finish with walnut stock. A very early WW2 1903A3 rifle with blade front sight and adjustable aperture rear sight. The barrel is marked “RA/ordinance bomb/12-43” and the receiver ring has the standard three line marking and serial number. The left hand side of the stock is marked with a “FJA” cartouche and the “crossed cannons” ordnance symbol, and double circle “P” behind the trigger guard, with two small proofs in-front of the trigger guard and a checkered metal butt plate with trapdoor.
There is a bayonet with this rifle measuring 18″ with brown plastic grips and it is marked: “AFH/US/1942” on the ricaso. It has a green plastic scabbard and has the flaming bomb ordnance insignia stamped on the metal throat. the blade retains about 85% of its original finish, markings are crisp and the scabbard is in good condition.
Condition:
Near perfect as arsenal refurbished with 99% of the parkerized finish remaining. There is some light wear around the high spots with a few minor scratches. The stock is very good with clear cartouches. The action is excellent and the bore extremely good. The action is excellent.
The rifle has 2008 British proof marks under the barrel near the muzzle.
