Swedish Husqvarna Rolling Block M1867-74
Full length Swedish Infantry Rifle in 12.17 x 44R by Husqvarna. Single shot rolling block action with three barrel bands in an Artic Birch stock. The serial number “3390” is marked on the RHS of the barrel just in-front of the breech; beside the makers name in very small capital letters.
The action has lost its colour and is now silver-grey in appearance. The barrel looks more brown than anything. The tangs are unmarked and silvered. Steel butt-plate. Side bayonet mounting bar at muzzle. Standard military ladder sights to rear. Original markings on side of ramp have been struck over and new distances struck under.
The Crowned Konsberg “K” sits on the crest of the barrel. The rolling block breech face is somewhat pitted. Mechanism is good with ejector in position. Cross hatched thumb spur. Checkered wrist to stock. Full length cleaning rod in position below barrel. The woodwork is in good condition for a rifle as old as this, considering its life in the military. Little if any rust damage to metal surfaces more a loss of colour.
Condition of bore is excellent, with deep strong sharp edged continuous rifling. No pitting to speak of and no misting to surface. This should be an excellent shooter, because of the strong and solid nature of the action these do have a reputation for acurracy.
