A Rare Fairbairn Sykes Presentation Knife – Cased

Made by Wilkinson Sword in batches for specific Commeorations, as required by the Army or Special Forces.  They come in various guises, some have blued blades and individual etchings.  This example is number 409 of 500.  It comes in its green fitted box.  It has the chromium finished etched blade with 18 carat gold plated grip and cross-bar.

The knife itself is 11.1/2″ long with the classic single point double egded 7″ blade.  The etching reads “1940 -1945” with the Royal appointment details and Wilkinsons crossed sword logo on one side.  On the other; “UNITED WE CONQUER” and “W409” in its own rectangular panel.  Short straight cross-guard and WWII patten ribbed grip.  No damage or signs of abuse to the knife – almost as new.

There is a certificate of authenticity from Wilkinson Sword within the fitted case.

Green leather-type embossed case only with minor spots of damage.  The hinges are goof as are the locking catches.  Internal green velvet is in fine condition with a white silk infill in the lid, embossed with battle honours.  The case measures 13.1/2″ x 4″ x 1.1/2″.

A fine and rare collectors piece for those devoted to the subject.
