Islamic Khanjali Short Sword …. SOLD

A good example of an Islamic Khanjal Short Sword

Of classic build for the region (possibly The Caucuses) in very fine condition.  Overall length 27″ with a fine leather covered sliver mounted scabbard.   The double sided blade with full length fuller to each side is 20.1/4″ long with a very fine point.  Some fine pitting and surface disruption but no more that 20% of the surface.  Polished and unplesantly sharp.

Silver mounted dark horn handle.  Full length tang – no loosness.  The stiching to the rear of the scabbard is fully intact.  The silver scabbard mountings depict Islamic scenes – all are well fixed.  There is a curled steel  hanger just below the top mount.

Condition would be hard to improve upon for a piece of this age.
