UMC CUGIR Romanian Training Rifle
Basic, Sturdy and reliably accurate. Chambered in .22 LR. Single shot Mauser type bolt with safety to rear. Romanian Beech sporting-type stock with pistol grip. Fixed sight – sometimes an advantage as some of the others tend to wobble a little. Steel trigger guard. Heavy tapered barrel with weighted front sight block.
Serial number “1956 – 12503” indicates year of manufacture in first part. The receiver marked within a boxed design “UMC / CUGIR” Behind the receiver is a wreath design with the initials “AVSAP” Flag type safety to rear of bolt. Maroon red plastic butt-plate with same UMC /CUGIR logo as action. Good bore with light pitting towards muzzle. Fresh British CIP proofs applied 2020.
The rifle measures 46.1/4″ in length. The heavy round tapered barrel is 27.1/2″ long and the Trigger Pull is 13.3/4″ in length. A classic Military trainer from the Eastern Block in the height of Soviet power, ready for the collector.
