Collectors are becoming more and more interested in the small bore versions of their favourite rifles. Accordingly prices realised at auction around the world at coming to reflect the trend.

One of the fastest growing areas of weaponry collecting currently within the Classic and Collectible Rifle genre. Not only did many of us cut our teeth on these small versions of the real thing but they are fast being disposed of by the current authorities; which brings some urgency to the wish to preserve the past – because its part of our past!

They have several advantages over the full bore versions, the first most obvious being that their diminutive size makes them easier to store. Then there’s their diet, it’s like feeding a small child as opposed to a hungry teenager! Ammunition cost is considerably lower. Other reasons they are stimulating interest these days is the fact that you can actually get to shoot them in many more smaller and local ranges – so the need for advanced security on army bases is also not required – you can stick to your local club.

There are many levels to enter into this field of collecting from the lower less expensive to the positively exotic……….
