A good standard specification M1903A3 by Remington
Of standard specification as an A3 by Remington for World War Two. Wartime expedient with pressed steel fittings to stock – all Remington marked. Stocked in American Black Walnut with hand guard over. Possible battle damage to stock’s fore-end, just in front of mid-band on LHS.
Serial number 3964918 for September 1943 Receiver marked: “U.S. / REMINGTON / MODEL 03 – A3 / 3964918”
Caliber .30-06 govt’. Five shot internal magazine. Mauser-type bolt action with flag safety to rear of bolt. Bolt and action in original parkerised finish. Rear sights early parkerising. Stock furniture parkerised. Trigger guard new light grey parkerised. Butt-plate old parkerised finish.
Barrel markings; “R.A. / flaming bomb (punched) / 9- 43”
Bore: Two groove. Condition: Excellent
Overall length; 43.1/4″ Barrel length; 24″ Trigger Pull 13″
Stock appears to be field replacement – no cartouches just a solitary “S” in the cut-off recess. A scant-grip stock. Stock reinforced with hidden repair at hairline crack through semi-pistol grip from rear trigger guard screw. No Factory inspectors marks to front of magazine. Aperture sights with windage.
