TS-45 Vintage Chinese Shanghai Side Lever Air Rifle….SOLD
Created on February 26th 2021
Good example of an early TS-45 Shanghai Air Rifle
Fairly good looking early TS-45 from the Shanghai Air gun company. Not an ugly weapon – sometimes the proportions of these rifles can get a bit lost in the fervour to out produce the western world but this has not happened in this case. This example is a .177 calibre rifle spring gun. Rifled bore in excellent condition.
The rifle measures just under 40″ in overall length. The barrel is 18″ long and the trigger Pull is 12″ to centre. Pressed steel open sight mounted on the cylinder. The top of the cylinder shows the old Shanghai Air Gun Company logo with no English translation beneath it. Blueing all over is strong with little wear or thinning. One piece stock covered in tough varnish-type finish – intact.
The side lever design does have a basic anti Bear-trap spring catch which is supposed to help avoid nasty accidents but it relies entirely on the correct functioning of some pretty basic spring catch devices. Hardwood type stock with staggered finger groves on either side of the fore-end. Fitted with two sling swivels and an old British webbing strap. The steel butt-plate has a sprung trap for storage of a plastic oil bottle in the butt. The original green plastic bottle is present. Front sight is adjustable through circular sight guard.
