TEL, STG. No42 MkI……..SOLD
Created on June 24th 2016
A particularly good Mark 42 Telescope used on artillery pieces and tanks of the Allied side in WW2
This example is a little more rae as it was produced in Canada by the R.E.L. Externally the tube is marked near the middle as follows;
“TEL. STG. NO 42 MK I
R.E.L. / CANADA
1943 626 -C
crows foot symbol“
Finish overall, is an even plum brown, with the brass showing through on the high points. Also, at each end of the straight tube there is evidence of the original mounting bracket. The cross-hair is a simple fine complete type and the optics are very good. There is no lense bloom, chipping or spidering. All the screws are unmolested. The image produced is excellent.
Because of the high quality of this exmple, in my opinion it would be a great shame to break this scope for repair parts on the no’32.
