Remington No.4 Rolling Takedown Rifle in 25-10 Stevens…SOLD

Model 4 Rolling Block in 25-10 R.F. calibre.  Serial Number J-295752

Fine condition Rolling Block with 22″ Octagonal barrel.  Overall length 37″. Pull  length 13″ to centre.   Serial number stamped on underside of barrel just beyond fore-end tip.   Two piece stock in excellent  condition with original varnish.  Strong blued finish on the barrel with light high edge wear.  Blued action parts – finish is strong, wear is minimal.  Strong yet subdued case coloured action, upper tang and trigger guard.  Curved steel butt-plate with “Remington/ UMC /TRADE MARK” centrally marked.

Simple adjustable “V”- notch rear sight and bead front sights set into barrel. Top flat of barrel marked with “Remington / TRADE MARK.” between rear sight and breech.  Forward of the rear sight is the following marking; “MODEL 4,  REMINGTON ARMS – UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO., / REMINGTON WORKS, ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A.” The calibre is marked adjacent to the rear marking on the LHS oblique face of the barrel. Take-down lever on RHS of action, requires one half turn to the right to release barrel.  Weapon holds together well no rattle or shake.  Pulling the block to the rear actuates the ejector.  Excellent bore devoid of pitting, damage or corrosion with strong rifling.

Superb high quality collectors piece with minimal signs of usage for its age.
