Smith & Wesson, Nickel, Model Number 1.1/2 Revolver…….SOLD
Created on June 14th 2010
An Outstanding Model Number 1.1/2 Nickel plated Revolver
They dont’ come through like this very often. Finish on this example is excellent. On the right side the gun is 99% perfect with a small loss of nickel around the top strap where it meets the hinge. The other side has some loss above the cylinder appature of the frame. The main deteriation of finish is on the high points around the fluting on the cylinder. The hammer retains good case colour hardening finish on both sides and good knurling on the spur. The bore is the best I’ve seen. Good clear rifling with sharp edges and some depth with NO PITTING. Birdshead Grips are rosewood and all original as numbered to the gun.
Serial number 120732. Caliber .32 RimFire long. 3.1/2 ribbed barrel with “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS….” and patent dates. Action in good working order but overtimes very slightly. Barrel to frame lockup is excellent. The access plate on the side of the frame shows no sign of ever being opened,
PROVENANCE: This gun has come from The Schlegel collection in America.
£700.
